Simon Janik has been working as a physiotherapist for almost a decade after graduating from Western University with a Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2014. He has experience working with people of all ages, having worked in a variety of settings. Having previously worked at private orthopaedic clinics, OHIP funded clinics and providing physiotherapy and strength and conditioning for professional athletes, NCAA athletes and weekend warriors, Simon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. He has completed his diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy with the orthopaedic division and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT). He has also taken additional courses in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation, acupuncture, vestibular rehab, and concussion management. Simon implements a unique style of manual therapy with joint mobilizations/manipulations, rehabilitative exercises, neural and myofascial mobilizations to help clients recover from their injuries.
He has a special interest in working with athletes, particularly tennis players, having been a half decent one himself at one point in his life.
In his spare time, Simon enjoys staying active by golfing, playing tennis, running, and spending time with his wife and two boys.
Justin Pagcanlungan
Registered Physiotherapy Resident
Justin Pagcanlungan graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2024, following a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 2022. Justin has a diverse background in patient care, having gained experience working with athletic populations as a student athletic therapist for the Men’s Basketball team at the University of Waterloo. He also has experience in rehabilitation for patients with cardiovascular conditions, cancer and dementia, and has experience in private practice treating complex musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, including motor vehicle and workplace accidents. Additionally, he has previously worked with post-surgical clients and organ transplant recipients in a Toronto hospital.
Justin’s treatment philosophy is centered around empowering clients with the confidence and knowledge to get back to the activities they enjoy. He achieves this by providing a clearly outlined treatment plan that includes manual therapy, exercise, education about their condition, and strategies for self-management. He is eager to continue expanding his expertise by pursuing courses in acupuncture, running assessments, and advanced musculoskeletal assessment and treatment through the orthopaedic division. Outside of work, Justin enjoys trying new food, staying active through basketball and soccer, and applying his passion for movement and health to his own life.
